When can a project start?
After a discovery, in which we map out the project, what it needs and its scope; the price is based on that too. My current availability is always at the bottom of every page.
What is needed to start?
Everything the discovery brings up: your company, its goals and where you want to go. What exactly depends on the project.
What kind of projects does Ravi Klaassens take on?
A wide range, from branding to web design and development. I especially like working with music, film, culture, fashion and tech brands that are driven by visual design.
Does Ravi Klaassens work with international clients?
Yes, I work with clients internationally.
What should a first message include?
What the project is about and what you like. Inspiration helps, and a brief is very useful for me to read before a first call.
Are smaller projects possible?
Yes, depending on what you need and your budget. Full websites and identities do come first: they fit my all-in-one approach, where I take responsibility for the whole brand and make sure it is done well.
How long does a project take?
A typical website takes about a month and a half. Larger projects can take two to three months; it depends on the scope.
How do we stay in touch during a project?
By email or Slack, and WhatsApp when that is easier, with a meeting now and then to go over the progress.
How many feedback rounds are included?
Usually two. A round only counts when feedback changes something we already agreed on. Talking the work through on a call and moving on from there is normal feedback, not a round.
Does Ravi Klaassens work alone?
Both: I work alone, and bring in freelancers from my own network when a project needs it.
Can Ravi Klaassens work white label?
No. I'm always credited for my work; I think that's only fair.
Does Ravi Klaassens sign NDAs?
Yes, as long as the NDA ends when the project is finished or live, so I can show the work in my portfolio and on social media.
Can Ravi Klaassens work in our time zone?
I work my own hours, in the Netherlands (CET/CEST). If you are, say, twelve hours behind, your update is simply ready at the start of your next day.
Which tools are used?
That depends on the project: Figma, Webflow and Unicorn Studio, among others, and AI is part of my toolset too. I work from my own Figma and Webflow seats; agencies invite me into their workspace.
Can existing brand guidelines be used?
Yes. It usually comes at an extra cost, because it changes how I approach the design work.
Can Ravi Klaassens build a design made by someone else?
Yes, I can build a design made by another designer or agency.
Which platform are the websites built on?
Webflow: at the moment, I build every website there.
Can we edit the website ourselves?
Yes, and it is simple: content lives in the Webflow CMS, and I build the static pages from components with their own fields. Anything you leave empty simply doesn't show.
Is motion part of the work?
Usually, yes. How far I can polish a website in motion depends on the budget.
Does Ravi Klaassens do SEO?
I set up the SEO basics.
Who writes the copy?
Usually I write it, or help with it, based on a good brief. Without one, I'll ask for specific information along the way.
Can photography be arranged?
Yes, through an external freelancer. It depends on the project: whether there is photography already and how good it is, which also shapes what I can do with it.
Who owns the website after launch?
That depends on what you prefer. The website can move to your own Webflow workspace, or stay in my freelancer workspace and be billed to you through Webflow.
What happens after launch?
Usually a retainer: I keep supporting the website with small changes, help when something doesn't work, and make sure everything stays right.
Who pays for hosting and the Webflow plan?
You do. The Webflow plan is paid by the client, and media hosting usually runs on Bunny.net, on an account you set up and pay for yourself. I don't handle billing for clients.
Is there a monthly retainer?
Yes, for maintenance and support, in a few monthly packages depending on how much help you need.
Can our team learn to use the CMS?
Yes. At the end of a project, I record a tutorial for your website on how to manage it, which you can share with anyone in your team.
Can an existing website move to Webflow?
Yes, by rebuilding it in Webflow.
What does a project cost?
It depends on the scope, but a project typically costs between €5,000 and €20,000.
Fixed price or hourly?
Both, depending on the project and its scope.
How does payment work?
By invoice, paid by bank transfer to my Dutch bank account.
What if the scope changes during the project?
Extra scope means extra payment: usually hourly, or a new fixed fee when it is substantial and the hours are hard to estimate. When the budget is tight, I adjust the scope so we stay within it.
Is there a referral fee?
Yes: 20%. Introduce a client to me, and once the project is booked and goes through, you receive 20% of the net amount I've been paid.
