Process
Per project
How a project with Ravi Klaassens runs, from the first conversation to launch day.
Ravi Klaassens takes care of the whole brand, from the first discovery to long after launch.
01
Discovery
Every project starts with a discovery. Ravi Klaassens looks at what you do, why you do it and who you do it for, and maps out what the project needs: the kind of work, what it covers and its scope. The price is based on that.
A first message or brief helps: what the project is about, what you like and any inspiration you already have. Your company, its goals and where you want to go shape everything that follows. Without that context, design becomes guesswork.
02
Strategy
What matters most to the company? What are the goals, and where should the brand be in the coming years? This stage sets the direction: the positioning, story and values of the brand, and what the website has to achieve, who it is for and how it is structured.
Then the visual direction takes shape, with inspiration from inside and outside your sector: typography, structure, imagery and overall tone. Design starts from a direction you have agreed on, so the work that follows builds on it.
03
Design
Layout, typography, hierarchy and interaction are explored and refined in Figma, iteration by iteration. The copy is written along the way or shaped from a good brief, and photography can be arranged through an external freelancer when the project needs it.
You stay in close contact throughout: by email, Slack or WhatsApp, with a call when it helps. Usually two feedback rounds are included, and talking the work through on a call doesn't count as one. That keeps the work aligned with the vision.
04
Development
The design is built into a working, interactive site in Webflow, motion and interaction included. The goal is a site that feels just as strong in the browser as it did in the design.
Everything is set up to be easy to edit: content in the Webflow CMS, static pages built from components with their own fields, and anything left empty simply doesn't show. The SEO basics are set up along the way.
05
Launch
Before anything goes live, the site is tested across browsers and devices, then published once you approve. The Webflow plan and the media hosting on Bunny.net run on your own accounts.
The website can move to your own Webflow workspace or stay in Ravi Klaassens' freelancer workspace, billed to you through Webflow. You also get a recorded tutorial on how to manage your website, to share with anyone in your team.
06
After launch
After launch, a monthly retainer keeps the website in good hands: small changes, help when something doesn't work, and making sure everything stays right.
Retainers come in a few packages, depending on how much help you need. Updates and larger changes are always possible on request.
Questions
6
When can a project start?
After a discovery, in which we map out the project, what it needs and its scope; the price is based on that too. My current availability is always at the bottom of every page.
What is needed to start?
Everything the discovery brings up: your company, its goals and where you want to go. What exactly depends on the project.
How long does a project take?
A typical website takes about a month and a half. Larger projects can take two to three months; it depends on the scope.
How do we stay in touch during a project?
By email or Slack, and WhatsApp when that is easier, with a meeting now and then to go over the progress.
How many feedback rounds are included?
Usually two. A round only counts when feedback changes something we already agreed on. Talking the work through on a call and moving on from there is normal feedback, not a round.
What happens after launch?
Usually a retainer: I keep supporting the website with small changes, help when something doesn't work, and make sure everything stays right.
